Notice to Public of Funding for New Project

 

PUBLIC NOTICE

 

The public is invited to review the following proposed off-cycle project of the County to be included in the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Fiscal Year 2021-2022 Action Plan, which identifies projected use of funds for July 1, 2021– June 30, 2022 for submission to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). 

COUNTYWIDE PROJECT

Agency Name: Los Angeles County Development Authority - Housing Operations Division
Program Name: COVID-19 Enhanced Resident Services
Project Number: 602470-21
Original CDBG Amount: $400,000

Description:  This new CDBG project provides enhanced trash, utilities, and other support services to all public and affordable housing residents, with specific attention to senior residents, of Los Angeles County complying with State and County COVID-19 Safer-at-Home orders. Compliance with health and safety orders, and the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has increased the need for these services for all 2,962 public and affordable units located at 63 sites throughout Los Angeles County.  This activity meets the HUD National Objective as a project serving Low- and Moderate-income Limited Clientele under HUD Code 05Z.

Program Name: Nueva Maravilla Childcare Facility Improvements

Original CDBG Amount: $100,000

Description:  This new project provides improvements to the Centro De Niños Childcare and Daycare Facility that provides childcare for children residing in the Nueva Maravilla Housing Development. The improvements include but are not limited to repair and/or replacement of security gates, fencing, interior cabinets, and associated work.  This activity meets the HUD National Objective as a project serving Low- and Moderate-income Limited Clientele under HUD Code 03Z.
