HCV Waiting List for the County-based Homeless Preference Only
At this time, the waiting list is closed for public registration, which means a family/individual cannot be added to the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program waitlist. The HCV Program is open to prioritize and continually accept referrals from a Coordinated Entry System (CES) and/or other partnering agencies for families that are homeless. Current wait-listed families are also given the benefit of the homeless preference if they are experiencing homelessness.
If you are currently on the HCV Waiting List and are not homeless, you are encouraged to apply to the LACDA’s other housing program waiting lists that may be open.
WHERE TO APPLY: Eligible applicants must be referred by service providers. If you, or someone you know is homeless and are not currently working with a service provider, you may dial 2‐1‐1, call (800) 399‐6993, or visit 211LA.org. The 2‐1‐1 phone line is open 24 hours, 7 days a week. You may also click here for housing services in your service planning area (SPA) through the Los Angeles County Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA).
The LACDA does not discriminate against applicants or residents on the basis of their disability. Under applicable law, the LACDA provides reasonable accommodations to applicants and residents if they, or any household member(s), have a disability and if reasonable accommodation or reasonable modification is necessary to provide an equal opportunity to use and enjoy their housing.
If you need assistance with accessing the LACDA’s rental assistance programs due to a disability, need bilingual translation services, or communication in an alternative form, you may contact (626) 262-4510, and select option 2. The LACDA is available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. pacific standard time. Individuals with hearing or speech disabilities using TDD technology may call (626) 943-3898 for assistance, or the California Relay Services by dialing 7-1-1 for assistance.
State and Federal law protects individuals from illegal discrimination by housing providers based on a protected class. For more information on California Fair Housing visit calcivilrights.ca.gov. For more information on Federal Fair Housing visit hud.gov.
