The public is invited to review the following proposed off-cycle and modified projects of the County to be included in the Fiscal Year 2022-2023 Action Plan (Action Plan) which began on July 1, 2022. The Action Plan identifies projected use of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and CDBG coronavirus response (CDBG-CV) funds and was submitted to and approved by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The inclusion of these new and modified activities below will result in amendments to the Action Plan.
FIRST DISTRICT

Program Name: Culinary Program at Care First Village

Original CDBG-CV Amount: $238,000
Description (include address or area): This new project provides CDBG-CV funding for a Weingart-Operated culinary skills training program at the Hilda Solis Restorative Care First Village (1060 N. Alhambra St., Los Angeles). Interim housing is one of Weingart Center’s solutions to proactively end homeless. The Care First Village provides housing, mental wellness, behavioral health and employment for village residents experiencing homelessness. Due to the pandemic many of these residents in Los Angeles were at risk of homelessness and those already unsheltered were at risk of infection. This activity will meet the HUD National Objective as a project serving Low-to-Moderate Income Limited Clientele under HUD Code 05.
FOURTH DISTRICT
Agency Name: Boys and Girls Club of Whittier
Program Name: Learning Wellness Program
Project Number: CV1091-19
Original CDBG-CV Amount: $162,000
Description (include address or area): This project is planned to include an additional $69,500 in CDBG-CV funding, for a total of $231,500, to increase the number of Wellness Check Case Managers by one, to cover six (6) additional schools in the Whittier area. The program serves students whose school attendance or academic progress has been negatively impacted due to the pandemic, or who have been identified as high risk, to perform wellness checks. This activity will meet the HUD National Objective as a project serving Low- and Moderate-Income Clientele under HUD Code 05L.
