The public is invited to review the following cancelled projects of the County that had been included in the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Fiscal Year 2023-2024 Action Plan, which identified projected use of funds for July 1, 2023 – June 30, 2024 for submission to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). 

FIRST DISTRICT PROJECT

Program Name:  Community Security Services Program
Project Number: 602644-23
Original CDBG Amount: $20,000

Description: This new project would have provided armed guard security services at the La Verne Ave. Parking Lot in East Los Angeles, including to ensure there are no illegal dumping activities, homeless encampments setups, and ensure vehicles are vacated prior to closing.  The project will not proceed due to other District priorities.

FOURTH DISTRICT

Description: This project would have provided funds for the interim interest and loan payments on the Section 108 loan associated with the development of 20,000 square feet of commercial space designated for health services.  CDBG funds were limited to paying interim interest (no higher than $100,000) and loan payments (no higher than $5,000).  Any other repayment costs were to be paid by the developer.  The borrower decided not to pursue a Section 108 loan. 

FIFTH DISTRICT PROJECT

Program Name:  SOS Children's Villages
Project Number: 602632-23
Original CDBG Amount: $57,508

Description: This new project would have provided services and assist in the predevelopment of a Community Center for foster care youth within the community of Palmdale at the SOS Children’s Village.  The Center declined the CDBG funds.
