About

The Growing Experience is an urban farm and community garden located within the Carmelitos Public Housing Development in North Long Beach, California.  The site contains a 2.5-acre community and 60 raised garden beds for families to grow their own produce, and safe green space for community events and recreation. 

Program Status

Effective July 1, 2021, the LACDA has begun shifting the service delivery model to working with local non-profit partners to maintain and operate the urban farm and community garden, and provide resident and community enrichment programming.

At this time, volunteers and community donations are not being accepted.
